Welcome to your second and final year in the IB Diploma Program! This information should help you have an idea of what to expect. You may find it helpful to refer back to How to Speak IB as you go. Seniors take Theory of Knowledge class. See What is TOK for more information.
12th Grade Timeline
Fall: Get recommendations for college applications. Start writing essays.
Fall: Take or re-take SAT, ACT or SAT Subject Tests, if necessary.
Fall: Begin exploring scholarship opportunities.
Fall: Check deadlines for early decision, early action, and regular admission. Most colleges have a deadline of January 1st. The University of California’s deadline is usually November 30th. The Arizona state schools (ASU, Univ. of Arizona, NAU) have later deadlines – please check their websites for dates and scholarship opportunities.
December – Extended Essay Due
January – March – Oral English, Spanish IV & French IV exams.
February: Many scholarships have a deadlines in February.
April: Calculus camp. A weekend spent in Prescott where the students prepare for the AP Calculus and IB Math HL exams.
May: IB Exams for SL & HL classes.
May: IB Recognition Event
